Projects
Here are the projects I’m currently working on.
TrustLLM — I work on TrustLLM as a postdoc at NTNU. It is a Horizon Europe project on trustworthy and efficient large language models, and my part is evaluating LLMs: linguistic capabilities, bias, and safety, with a particular focus on Norwegian (Bokmål and Nynorsk).
LLMs for project management in the construction industry — Together with colleagues across NTNU, including Eilif Hjelseth in civil engineering, I am helping create LLMs for project management in the construction industry through the Bedre Megaprosjekter programme and NorwAI’s domain-adapted models. The aim is models that can handle Norwegian contracts, standards, and project documentation. You can read more about the project in the NorLLM roadmap.
Hunspell dictionaries for LibreOffice — I have been revamping the Norwegian spell-checking dictionaries (Bokmål and Nynorsk) that ship with LibreOffice. The rebuilt dictionaries draw on open language resources like Ordbanken and represent a major coverage increase. They were announced in August 2026 and merged into the official LibreOffice dictionaries repository.
Past projects
HabIT (2014-2017) — An earlier project on health corpora and language technology; see the archived site.
PRESEMT (2009-2012) — A pre-cursor project on phrase-based statistical machine translation; see the project site.
If you are working on large language models, Norwegian linguistics, or open-source language resources, I would welcome collaboration. Contact me to discuss ideas.
